The Formula One 2012 website was a project I worked on as a follow up to the Formula One 2011 website for the console game with the same name. Codemasters wanted to continue with a similar site to the 2011 version but with the added feature of a game to increase dwell time and word of mouth marketing potential. I built the website and worked with the team to devise a series of mini games that users could play and challenge their friends on. I also managed the project and dealt with all client communication, scheduling, budget management etc.
We integrated Facebook so that players could easily see other players scores as well as increasing replay value as users came back to try and beat their peers scores. Although Facebook was heavily integrated we also wanted users to be able to play the game outside of Facebook and without having a Facebook account. Users can either connect to Facebook or play as a general user furthering the games potential reach.
